Bürkle is currently making significant investments in Freudenstadt. A sum in the low millions is being allocated to modernizing the site and building a new factory. In an exclusive interview, CEO Jürgen Schröer explains the rationale behind these decisions. BÜRKLE will use Holz-Handwerk 2026 to strengthen its dialogue with craft businesses, involve its dealer network more closely, and showcase practical coating solutions. The focus will be on the KA UV roller-coating system and the modular, future-ready ROBUSeco spray-coating machine, complemented by PUR/glue application machines and continuous press systems for small to mid-sized capacities.

Robert Bürkle GmbH is investing a single-digit million euro amount in the comprehensive modernization and construction of a new plant at its headquarters in Freudenstadt, with completion planned by the end of 2027. The investment aims to create modern, future-proof workplaces for 170 employees while strengthening the long-term competitiveness of the site. Key growth drivers include strong demand for customized systems—particularly in the PCB segment—as well as long-term development partnerships and future-oriented technologies such as AI and technical glass production.

In his column, Philip Berger, Head of Application Technology at Robert Bürkle GmbH, highlights a topic that is becoming increasingly important for many companies in the wood and furniture industry: How can production processes be made more sustainable while also saving costs?

Robert Bürkle uses the new SRCI interface to program Yaskawa robots directly in the PLC and thus meet the increasing automation requirements in the industry. The ease of use enables medium-sized companies in particular to integrate robots without in-depth programming knowledge, which speeds up commissioning and compensates for a shortage of skilled workers. Thanks to the close cooperation with Yaskawa and the use of digital twins, Bürkle has already successfully integrated several robots into its production systems and plans to expand the technology further.

Robert Bürkle GmbH has changed its sales partner in Denmark and is now working together with HOMAG Danmark A/S in the field of woodworking machines. HOMAG Danmark A/S has extensive market knowledge and a strong sales network, which should contribute to Bürkle's increased market presence in Denmark. Robert Bürkle GmbH is optimistic about the future and expects sustainable growth through this strategic partnership.

Bürkle North America and Schmoll Maschinen have amicably concluded their 20-year collaboration to independently pursue their strategic objectives in the Printed Circuit Board industry, effective April 3rd.

Robert Bürkle GmbH has restructured itself in August 2023 and divided into four independent divisions in order to react more efficiently to customer requirements. Despite the pandemic, the caravanning industry recorded the best half-year in its history. In the first 6 months, a total of 15.4% more motorhomes and caravans were registered than in the first half of 2020. Motorhomes even increased by 23% compared to the same period last year. As part of an asset deal, Robert Bürkle GmbH (Freudenstadt) acquired the technical and sales-oriented expertise as well as market and service capacities from the insolvent SMB-DAVID finishing lines GmbH (Geretsried) in October.
