Robert Bürkle GmbH invests in the future at its Freudenstadt site

Extensive modernization and new factory construction planned by the end of 2027

Robert Bürkle GmbH is investing a single-digit million euro amount in the comprehensive modernization and construction of a new plant at its headquarters in Freudenstadt, with completion planned by the end of 2027. The investment aims to create modern, future-proof workplaces for 170 employees while strengthening the long-term competitiveness of the site. Key growth drivers include strong demand for customized systems—particularly in the PCB segment—as well as long-term development partnerships and future-oriented technologies such as AI and technical glass production.

Freudenstadt, December 2025 – Robert Bürkle GmbH is sending a clear signal for the long-term strengthening of its headquarters. At the Freudenstadt site, a comprehensive modernization of part of the plant as well as the construction of a new production facility on the company premises will begin in early 2026. With an investment in the single-digit million euro range, the structural and technological foundations are being created to continue serving the requirements of global markets successfully in the future. Completion of the construction work is scheduled for the end of 2027.

“With the modernization and the planned new building in Freudenstadt, we aim to provide our 170 employees at this location with state-of-the-art and future-proof workplaces while simultaneously strengthening the site’s competitiveness,” explained Jürgen Schröer, CEO of Robert Bürkle GmbH, regarding the investment project.

Broad product portfolio as a key success factor

The current success of Robert Bürkle GmbH is largely based on the development of customer-specific machines and systems for clients from a wide range of industries. In particular, the strong demand for laminating systems from the printed circuit board segment led to a significant increase in production capacities at the relevant plants in the past financial year.

“Our plants are currently operating at full capacity, and the company has become more robust and flexible in responding to increases in demand. Outside Germany, in addition to the high demand for our laminating systems, we are also seeing growing interest in our technologies for building components,” Schröer commented on the current business situation.

Solution business as a future growth area

In addition to expanding the global sales network in the woodworking sector to gain further market share, long-term development partnerships with key customers are a central component of the company’s future strategy. These partnerships enable Bürkle to respond at an early stage to new market requirements and to jointly develop innovative technologies to series production readiness.

“We are particularly successful wherever the development of innovative manufacturing processes is required. Here, we consistently succeed in increasing the sustainability and resource efficiency of our customers. In this field, we also see ourselves as the leading point of contact in the industry in the future,” Schröer added.

While the ongoing and stable AI boom will continue to ensure high capacity utilization at the plant engineering company’s facilities beyond the coming financial year, technologies for the production of technical glass are developing into an attractive long-term growth segment.
