Spray coating reimagined

How BÜRKLE is preparing small and medium-sized businesses for the future

BÜRKLE supports small and medium-sized enterprises with individually configurable spray coating systems like the ROBUSeco, which offer maximum flexibility, efficient automation, and excellent coating results—even in times of skilled labor shortages. With comprehensive consulting, modular system solutions, and practical testing in its in-house Technology Center, BÜRKLE provides future-proof technologies tailored precisely to the customer’s requirements and processes.

Craftsmen and small and medium-sized businesses often face the same challenge: How can high-quality coatings be applied efficiently, economically, and with minimal personnel? Traditional manual coating quickly reaches its limits, whether due to fluctuating quality, high material loss, or a lack of skilled personnel. In addition, every business, whether a carpenter, joiner, or furniture manufacturer, has different requirements. Some produce individual pieces, others series. Some rely on water-based paints, others work with stains and various paint systems. This is exactly where BÜRKLE has been coming in for more than half a decade: with intelligent spray coating technology that is individually tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. BÜRKLE does not offer its customers a standard solution, but thinks about each project from the application perspective. “We work with our customers to develop solutions that really fit their product portfolio, their processes, and their workforce,” explains Martin Brümmerstädt, spray coating expert at BÜRKLE.

Martin Brümmerstädt has been with BÜRKLE for over 25 years and brings extensive experience in service, process development, and coating technology to the table. Since 2014, he has been responsible for the spray coating division, which he has played a key role in developing and shaping technologically. Today, as a technical sales expert, he is the point of contact for customized customer solutions in the field of spray coating technology.
Whether paints, stains, or other media, the three paint circuits of the ROBUSeco allow you to quickly change between different coating media.

ROBUSeco as the centerpiece for medium-sized companies

With ROBUSeco, BÜRKLE offers exactly the right solution for this customer segment. A fully automatic spray coating machine that combines high flexibility with simple operation and economical operation. Rapidly changing orders, different materials, and small to medium quantities are the playground of ROBUSeco. It impresses not only with its high application quality, but also with multiple coating cycles and efficient airflow technology. “Medium-sized customers in particular appreciate the versatility of the ROBUSeco,” explains Martin Brümmerstädt, spray coating expert at BÜRKLE. “It is modularly expandable, can process a wide variety of coating materials, and thus offers a future-proof solution for companies that want to remain flexible.”
Flexibility is a key word in this context. Thanks to the possibility of combining it with extensive drying and automation solutions, such as for parts feeding, removal, and cleaning, BÜRKLE customers can select not only the coating technology, but also the upstream and downstream machines directly. This means that the coating concepts installed in Freudenstadt are completely thought through from start to finish.

Automation as an important part of the portfolio

In addition to the more technical perspectives, small and medium-sized companies have been particularly affected by the shortage of skilled workers in recent years, having to compete for every trainee and employee. At the same time, demands on quality and delivery speed are constantly increasing despite fewer staff and thus lower capacity. The machine manufacturer from the Black Forest is meeting these challenges with well-thought-out automation solutions that not only make the painting process more efficient, but also reduce the strain on personnel. By combining the spray painting machine with automated feeding and removal stations, workpieces can be guided through the entire painting process without manual intervention. “With just one person, the entire painting process can be covered without any loss of quality and the risk of handling errors with fresh paint is minimized. Automation reduces the workload for medium-sized companies and guarantees consistently high-quality results,” says Martin Brümmerstädt, explaining BÜRKLE's automation solutions.

With automation systems, BÜRKLE flexibly expands its ROBUSeco to spray coating systems that can be operated by just one person.
The ROBUSeco spray coating machine from BÜRKLE is aimed at customers from small and medium-sized businesses who are looking for powerful and reliable technology.

Technology Center in Freudenstadt as added value

For individual developments and trials, BÜRKLE's in-house Technology Center offers an ideal environment for testing all relevant production equipment in advance. The mechanical engineer himself is responsible for process engineering support. "Many customers come to us with uncertainties. Will my paint work? Will I achieve the desired surface quality? How will my product behave? We clarify all of this together in the technical center under real conditions. This way, our customers know immediately whether the desired quality is being achieved and where adjustments may be necessary," Martin Brümmerstädt continues. Various coating processes, drying techniques, and automation concepts can be tested and fine-tuned in the in-house technical center. New, environmentally friendly coating systems can also be validated in advance in collaboration with coating manufacturers.

Conclusion: Spray coating with BÜRKLE – a well-rounded solution

Small and medium-sized companies investing in coating technology today need more than just a machine – they need a partner who understands how to balance productivity, quality, and processes. This is exactly what BÜRKLE offers with its spray coating technology: individually plannable, flexible, and with real added value for the company.
