easy-LAM IFL successfully type tested according to DIN EN 14449

Type tested laminated safety glass with the easy-LAM IFL according to DIN EN 12600 & 12543-4

With the easy-LAM IFL, BÜRKLE developed a completely new way to laminate flat glass. Thanks to the successful inital type tested in cooperation with the Center for Construction Materials of the Technical University in Darmstadt, the autoclave-free laminating line officially maintains the highest quality standards for laminating laminated and laminated safety glass.

Freudenstadt, May 2021 - The market launch of the easy-LAM IFL for inline lamination of flat glass was another milestone in the company's history for BÜRKLE in 2018. The newly developed technology enables flat and laminated safety glass manufacturers to replace the cost- and energy-intensive autoclave in their production with a highly efficient lamination process. In addition to the savings from considerably lower energy consumption, the focus during development was on reducing offline processes. Pre-laminating in the pre-nip as well as packaging in vacuum pouches and batch formation on tray weighers are no longer necessary in production with the IFL. The three-stage laminating concept, which consists of a heating, vacuum and cold press and can be fully integrated into new or existing production lines, is decisive for the savings.

easy-LAM IFL confirms quality standards DIN EN 14449

After successful installation of the test system of the "IFL-Process" in the BÜRKLE Technology Center, development and test trials with partners and interested parties can be carried out at the Freudenstadt site from now on. Thanks to the test system, another important part of the development strategy has also been completed: the initial type test according to the quality standards DIN EN 14449 (Test parts: DIN 12600 & DIN ISO 12543-4). With this step, BÜRKLE confirms the quality standards promised since the introduction with regard to breakage, temperature and irradiation safety. "The initial type test according to DIN standards are a central part of being able to guarantee our customers the highest end product quality. It makes us all the happier that we have achieved these standards after intensive process development," says Robert Gaiser, Sales Director Glass Division at BÜRKLE.
